Microsoft are seeminlgy trying to push the pre order of their next-gen Xbox One console by offering an exclusive Day One edition to loyal fans that will be purchasing at launch. Is this a ploy to counter the apparent statistics saying that the number for PS4 pre orders out weigh Xbox One pre orders quite considerably?

On Friday, the much anticipated Last Of Us was released and it has received a glowing reception across the board. From the developers of the Uncharted series, Last Of Us was the biggest selling game at UK retail this week, keeping Animal Crossing: New Leaf at bay. Exclusive to the PS3, Last Of Us is the third fastest selling new release of the year, beaten only by multi format titles Bioshock: Infinite and Tomb Raider.

Not everyone likes to play western RPGs, some prefer to stick with a more eastern JRPG style which is so incredibly popular in Japan the home f the PlayStation 3. Sadly a large number of these JRPG titles will never come over to our consoles in the west and I'm sad about that as a lot of them look amazing. Yes I wouldn't consider then AAA titles, but nonethe less the amount of joy and game time you get out of RPGs is why they are so popular. Nippon Ichi Software's latest JRPG, The Witch and the Hundred Knights, gets a New Trailer for Japan to get people hyped up before its July 25th launch over there, there is no date for when its coming over to us in the UK, but it is coming...rejoice!

As with all four of the extra character DLC, rumours and speculation have been flying around as to who the final character will be, some with actual commendable backing where as others are merely fan requests that start turning in to demands. To quash all rumours and speculation, the final character for the Injustice Season Pass is General Zod, announced recently by NetherRealm Studios and later tweeted by Creative Director Ed Boon, that a gameplay video will be released next week.

Ubisoft are making big strides in to the film indsutry with adapatation of their popular game franchises, the latest of their projects that they want to be given the big screen treatment are Watch Dogs, Far Cry and oddly Rabbids. According to reports, Ubisoft's film division will "package" the three films together, to recruit screenwriters, directors and actors, but then pitch the projects to Hollywood studios independently.

Sony Computer Entertainment UK boss Fergal Gara recently spoke out on the topic of what gamers can expect when they subscribe to the PS Plus service. Sony have made the thought-out decision of charging for the multiplayer online service on the PS4, according to Gara, it was a decision that Sony had to "agonise over for a very long time". With Xbox Live Gold subscription being a paid-for service right from the start then I guess it was only a matter of time before Sony jumped on board too.

I think is it fairly safe to say that we were all surprised at the pricing of the next-gen consoles (more so PS4 than Xbox One) - PS4 at £349.999 and Xbox One at £429.99. I think that the extra cost for Microsoft and hence the higher price tag, is the fact that a Blu Ray drive has now been installed and of course you have the compulsory inclusion of the new Kinect. Many people are still moaning about the price of these consoles, where as if you put them in to perspective against gadgets and technology that are within the same field then they really are not that expensive.

Now that the dust has settled from the biggest gaming even of the year, we have had some solid information on games, their platform availability and release dates. The next-gen consoles will strive and / or plummet depending on several factors - their appeal, their pricing and perhaps most importantly their exclusive titles. Now, going in to E3 I did mention that the Playstation brand had some stronger exclusive titles and that I wanted to see some 'wow' factor Xbox exclusive to even the odds. To a certain degree Microsoft have pulled out some impressive exclusives, but are they enough to keep fans loyal to the Xbox brand?

This is some potentially upsetting and rage-inducing news for Minecraft fans on the Xbox 360, no doubt existing fans of the massive hit Minecraft would have clocked up hundreds and hundreds of hours on their Minecraft worlds, digging to their heart's content to create that perfect world they have envisaged from the start. Unfortunately, Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer has said that game-saves will not transfer between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles, understandable from some perspectives, you wouldn't expect game saves from a standard retail game to follow on to it's sequel but on the other hand - all those hours spent digging and building!
